GI Endoscopy Advanced Course: EMR & ESD on pigs at the Georges Pompidou Hospital of Paris

Diagnostic and interventional digestive endoscopy is a fast-growing mini-invasive alternative to classical surgical techniques.
"Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) allow for en bloc resection of early neoplasms in the gastrointestinal tract. However, the learning curve of this technique requires a proper training on animals in realistic conditions and in presence of experts."

I have been practicing EMR and ESD for many years and I have always been willing to transmit my knowledge.

After spending several months in the Kobe University Hospital in Japan, to collaborate with Prof. Toyonaga in the field of ESD, I have created an Interventional Endoscopic course for resection procedures (EMR and ESD) in the Biosurgical Sciences Laboratory in Paris.

I am co-hosting with my colleague Dr. Guillaume Perrod a GI Endoscopy advanced course on EMR & ESD on pigs in June, 27th, 2019.

This MasterClass will be held in a dedicated Lab located next door European Hospital Georges Pompidou in Paris Eiffel Tower area, the most modern and last generation Paris Hospital. A brand new center with the latest endoscopic equipment and an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower and the River Seine.

During a full day, attendees will learn how to manage EMR and ESD. The first part will consist of a theoretical overview and a discussion of video cases. Attendees will then practice and test on Pigs the most important accessories for EMR and ESD. This hands-on workshop will help the attendee choose his own technique and learn how to evaluate and proceed on superficial tumors.

Another important aspect of this workshop will address the safety concern of Digestive Endoscopy, including tips and tricks for EMR & ESD.
